I have windows 7 pro 64 bit sp1 and have been using Visual Studio pro 2008. I use 2008 to develop several new projects every year and it works very well. I purchased Visual Studio pro 2017 and it works in development debug mode. The publisher function doesn't work, I followed the instructions on the Microsoft web site to fix the problem. I spend 2 days trying to fix the problem with no success. This is the first program that doesn't install properly on my computer. I've uninstalled Visual Studio 2017 and continue use Visual Studio 2008.
I will try it again when I get a new computer, probably next year.
